Our Station has 911 Street signs available. Stop by the hall monday night at 6:30 with a copy of your address if interested. They help illuminate your address from the street and make it easier for us to find your house.

Alarm Reviews

Lift Assist

10/04/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 18:20 to 380 Chestnut Street in Hyde Park for a lift assist. Station 53 assisted medic 116 and then were placed back in service.

AFA

9/27/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 04:55 to 1760 South Avenue for an automatic fire alarm. Second call from the house reporting that there was a light haze of smoke. Chief 53 arrived on scene and investigated that house and canceled all incoming units.

Smoke in a House

9/22/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 17:42 to 208 Emerson Street in Vandergrift for a report of smoke in a house. Command 50 was on scene reported a possible electrical fire. While en-route the fire was believed to be out and requested that all 53 units cancel.

AED Assist

9/22/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 05:02 for a man unresponsive possibley not breathing at 311 First Avenue in Hyde Park. Medic 116 arrived on scene reported that the patient was Code 40 and requested that all 53 can cancel.

Wires Down

9/15/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 06:11 to the intersection of Main Street and Peach Avenue for a report of wires down as a result of the storms. Measures were taken to close the section of road til the wires could be taken care of by Allegheny Power.

AFA Kiski High School

9/11/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 06:37 for an automatic fire alarm at Kiski High School. An additional call from security reported that the alarm was accidently set off requesting that the fire department cancel.

Physical Rescue

9/09/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 20:39 for a physical rescue at 1659 Main Street in West Leechburg for a man with his leg caught in a recliner. The man was freed from the recliner and was checked out by Medic 116. All units were then placed back in service.

Ambulance Assist

9/07/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 19:48 to the West Leechburg Police Station for 2 youths with severe intoxication. Station 53 was assisted with Medic 116, Medic 70 and A-K Pulser.

Vehicle Accident with Entrapment

9/06/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 20:28 to assist station 99 with a vehicle accident with entrapment on Hyde Park Road. Command 99 Canceled all 53 units responding reporting the accident to be a Code 40.

AFA at Kiski High School

9/04/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 07:09 to Kiski High School for an automatic fire alarm. Additional call reported that this was an accidental trip and requested that the fire department cancel.

Stove Fire RIT

8/31/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 02:02 to respond to Grant Avenue in Vandergrift for a report of a Stove fire. While en-route to the scene Command 51 was on scene advising that the fire had been knocked down requesting that all units can cancel.

Landing Zone

8/23/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 16:03 to assist station 99 with setting up a landing zone at the Allegheny Township Community Building. Landing Zone was set up and Lifeflight was on the ground. All units were then clear of the scene.

AFA at Kmart

8/23/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 02:39 for an automatic fire alarm at Kmart. Chief 99 was on scene and requested that all units cancel.

AFA at Pleasant Veiw

8/19/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 18:43 for an automatic fire alarm at Pleasant View Personal Care Home. After a search of the buiding no smoke or fire was found. The alarm was reset and all units were placed back in service.

AFA at Peebles

8/17/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 20:28 to respond to Peebles Department Store for an automatic fire alarm. Additional call from security reporting that this was a burgler alarm not a fire alarm. Chief 99 requested all units cancel.

Stove Fire RIT

8/16/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 18:43 into Vandergrift for a report of a stove fire. While en-route Command 51 was on the scene reporting that the fire is out requesting that all units can cancel.

Structure Fire RIT

8/06/08

Station 53 was dispatched with our RIT team to 169 Lincoln Avenue McMurtry Towers in Vandergrift for a reported fire in a kitchen in Apartment 209.. It was advised that it was possibley burnt food. Upon investigation by crews it was reported that the microwave had malfunctioned. There was minor damage done. All 53 Units were clear of the alarm by Chief 51.

EMS Assist

8/06/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 02:33 to 104 Bell Avenue in West Leechburg for forcible entry to gain access to a patient. Upon arrival EMS had gained access through a window. Patient was a 76 year old female who fell with a possible hip or femur fracture. Patient was extricated and all 53 units were released.

Structure Fire RIT

8/05/08

Station 53 was dispatched with our RIT team at 09:33 to respond to 114 Columbia Avenue in Vandergrift for a reported dryer fire. Caller advised that it smelled like it was burning and the basement was full of smoke. All 53 units were canceled enroute by Chief 51.

EMS Assist

8/05/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 00:33 to respond to 152 Giron Street for an emergency lift assist. Patient was having seizures and Medic 116 requested assistance with extrication of the patient. Patient was removed from the residence and all 53 units were placed back in service.

Rekindle

7/25/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 10:48 to respond back to 293 Sherman Avenue for a possible rekindle.The floor was said to be smoldering. Chief 51 arrived on scene and requested that all 53 units cancel.

Structure Fire RIT

7/24/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 22:04 to respond to 293 Sherman Avenue with our RIT team for a possible structure fire. Chief 51 on scene advised a working fire in the living room and that all occupants were out of the structure. Station 53 crews were on standby outside of the structure for RIT. We were not used on this alarm and all 53 units were cleared per Chief 51.

Tree Down

7/20/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 14:57 to respond in front of the Hyde Park station for a tree down on the railroad tracks. On arrival power lines were down as well. The tree was trimmed back off the tracks and Allegheny Power was notified to the power lines down. All 53 were cleared from the scene by Assistant 53-1.

Brush Fire

7/20/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 13:50 to the area of 8th Street and Jantosik Street in West Leechburg for a report of a brush fire. All incoming units were requested to canceled per Command 53. It was a controled burn.

EMS Assist

7/13/08

Station 53 was distpatched at 20:10 to 606 4th Avenue in Hyde Park for an AED assist. All 53 units were canceled in route by medic 116.

Gas in a Structure RIT

7/10/08

Station 53 was distpatched at 17:24 to 924 Cooper Street in Vandergrift for a report of an oder of gas in a structure. All 53 units were canceled in route by Command 50.

EMS Assist

7/05/08

Station 53 was distpatched at 11:47 to 218 2nd Street in West Leechburg for an Ambulance Assist. Patient was a 91 year old female possibley heart related. Patient was contious and talking on arrival. All 53 units were canceled by medic 116.

Tree Down

6/28/08

Station 53 was dispatched at 19:14 to the area of 7th Street for a report of a tree down along the roadway. Captain 53-2 arrived on scene cleared the road from the debris and all units were canceled.
