Alarm Reviews

Oven Fire

6/18/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 20:00 for a report of an oven fire on Hancock Avenue in Vandergrift. Command 50 arrived on scene and reported that fire was possibley out. Station 53 acknowledged the call and was canceled prior to going en-route.

Apartment Fire

6/18/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 10:40 for a report of an apartment fire at 11 Sandal Wood Drive apartment 152. Assistant 99 arrived on scene and reported fire possibly out. Tanker 53 arrived on scene and assited 99 with checking for fire spread from the oven. None was found and the residence was checked for any other appliances that may have been on. Engine 99 began venting the structure. All 53 units were released per Command 99.

Structure Fire

6/8/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 15:18 for a report of a house fire on Hawk Valley Drive in Allegheny Township. Upon arrival on scene a light fixture was found to have caught fire on the front of the garage. The breaker tripped which aided in extinguishing the fire. The garage was checked for any fire extension with none found. Fire was out and all 53 units were placed back in service.

Wires Arching - RIT

6/3/09

Station 53 was dispatched with our RIT Team at 21:32 for a report of wires arching on Grant Avenue in Vandergrift Boro. Command 51 arrived on scene and requesed that all 53 could cancel.

Automatic Fire Alarm

6/3/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 09:35 for a report of an automatic fire alarm at the GET GO on Town Center Drive in Allegheny Township. Chief 53 arrived on scene and reported that dust had set off the alarm. Requested that all units cancel.

Automatic Fire Alarm

6/1/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 19:07 for a report of an automatic fire alarm at 1317 Deerfield Lane in West Leechburg. All units were to hold in station per Chief 53. Chief 53 arrived on scene and reported a false alarm and requested that all units cancel.

Ambulance Assist

5/23/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 22:14 to 119 Rowe Lane in West Leechburg for an ambulance assist. Patient was a 35 YOF who was intoxicated. Station 53 was requested for lighting and manpower. Patient was transfered to the hospital and all 53 units were release per Medic 116.

Automatic Fire Alarm

5/15/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 17:09 for a report of an automatic fire alarm at 260 West Leechburg Road. All units were to hold in station. All units were then canceled

Oder in a Residence - RIT

5/15/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 11:33 to respond with our RIT Team to 149 Hamilton Avenue in Vandergrift. Caller advised of a smell of gas in the residence. Command 51 arrived on scene and had all 53 units cancel their response.

Automatic Fire Alarm

5/13/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 09:59 to repspond to Kiski Area High School for an automatic fire alarm. Upon going en-route Incident Command had canceled all units.

Oder in a Residence - RIT

5/9/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 18:36 to respond with our RIT Team to 305 Elm Street in Vandergrift. Caller advised of a smell of gas in the residence. Command 51 arrived on scene and requested that all 53 units cancel their response.

House Struck by Lightening

4/28/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 20:35 to 1041 Indian Hill Road in Allegheny Township. Caller reported that the house had been struck by lightening. Command 99 arrived on scene and had all 53 units cancel.

Tree Down

4/28/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 06:20 for a report of a tree down on Garvers Ferry Road. Command 99 canceled all 53 units prior to going en-route

Possible Structure Fire RIT

4/22/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 11:39 with our RIT Team to respond to Studio G on Longfellow Street in Vandergift for a report of smoke coming from the roof. Assistant 50-2 arrived on scene requesting all units hold in station reporting that it was steam coming off of the shingled roof from the rain. Assistant 50-2 then canceled all units.

Stove Fire - RIT

4/20/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 12:35 with our RIT Team to respond to Oregon Avenue in Vandergrift for a report of a stove fire. Station 53 acknowledged the call and was requested to hold in station per Command 50. Command 50 then canceled all units reporting that the fire was out.

Structure Fire

4/15/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 22:26 to respond to 1649 Main Street in West Leechburg for a report of a stucture fire. Engine 53-2 arrived on scene all occupants were out of the structure. A crew located and and extinguished the fire. It was controled before the fire could spread and do any real damage. It was found that an outlet in the attic had sparked and caught fire. All units were released per Chief 53. We were assisted by stations 99, 51, station 69 for RIT and Medic 116. Thank you to all in attendance.

Landing Zone

4/09/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 09:45 to assist Station 99 with setting up a landing zone at the Allegheny Township Community Building. Tanker 53 and Squad 53 went enroute and arrived on scene. Engine 99 was on scene with a setup for a landing zone. We assisted 99 with manpower. Patient was transfered to Lifeflight and all units were released per Command 99.

Smoke in Structure - RIT

3/27/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 05:42 to respond with our RIT Team to 91 Emerson Street in Vandergrift for a report of smoke in a structure with smoke alarms activating. Prior to 53 units going in route to scene Command 50 had all units cancel.

Structure Fire

3/26/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 20:23 for a report of a structure fire on Woodberry Drive in Allegheny Township. Tanker 53 was requested to aid in providing water to the scene. The rest of our personnel were assigned to RIT with station 51.The fire was extinguished and 53 personnel were released per Command 101.

AED Assist

3/23/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 08:42 to respond to 962 Ninth Street in West Leechburg for an AED assist. For a 94 year old female who fell and was unresponsive. Upon arrival on scene she was responsive but incoherent. Medic 116 arrived on scene and care was transfered. Crews from Station 53 also assisted with loading the patient. All 53 units were released per Command 116.

Brush Fire

3/22/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 16:23 to respond in the area of 112 Bridge Street in West Leechburg for a report of a brush fire. The fire had spread onto a hillside. Tanker 53 utilized a handline and extinguished the fire. All 53 units were then placed back in service per Chief 53.

AED Assist

3/22/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 15:19 to respond to 299 First Avenue in Hyde Park for a report of an 86 year old male unresponsive. Squad 53 went en-route and arrived on scene shortly after Medic 116. Medic 116 reported that the patient was just sleeping and wife couldnt wake him. All 53 units were released per Command 116.

Brush Fire / Structure Fire - RIT

3/18/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 15:22 to respond into Armstong County, Parks Township for a report of a brush fire endangering a stucture. 53 Units resonded to 1149 Reim Lane and upon arrival the brush fire had spread to the structure. 53 personnel were shuttled back to the fire because of the difficulty of getting fire apparatus back to the scene. 53 personnel assisted with fire attack and RIT.

Structure Fire

3/17/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 12:43 to repond into Armstrong County to 315 Harrison Avenue in Leechburg for a report of a structure fire. Engine 53-1 arrived on scene and was given orders to establish a water supply to the rear of the structure. Crew 1 took out the windows on the second story of side C of the structure and attacted the fire from the ground. The fire broke through the roof and the deck gun on the engine was utilized to attack the fire on the roof. Fire was extinguished by the crews on scene. Engine 53-1 was diverted to Market Street in Leechburg for a report of a vehicle leaking fuel. Upon arrival on scene the vehicle had already left the scene and Engine 53-1 then returned to Harrison Avenue. All 53 units were then placed back in service per Armstrong Command 150. Assist EMS

3/17/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 05:53 to assist Medic 116 at 108 Val Jo Drive in West Leechburg for a male patient who had fallen down the stairs and sustained possible leg and back injuries. Patient was boarded and collared and placed in the ambulance. Medic 116 then transferred the patient to a near by hospital.

Gas Leak - RIT

3/16/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 20:10 with our RIT team to respond to 165 Franklin Avenue in Vandergrift for a report of a gas leak in a residence. Station 53 was canceled en-route by Incident Command.

Possible Structure Fire - RIT

3/13/09

Station 53 was dispatched at 19:05 to assist station 50 with our RIT Team. Station 53 was to respond to 531 Hancock Avenue in Vandergrift for a report of a structure fire. All 53 units were canceled en-route by Command 50.

Brush Fire

3/03/09

Station53 was dispatched at 13:20 for a report of a brush fire at 310 Chestnut Street in Hyde Park. Engine 53-1 arrived on scene and reported some rubbish and brush on fire. Tanker 53 arrived on scene and provided man power. The fire was extinguished and all 53 units were placed back in service per Command 53.
